Kutztown University of Pennsylvania hosted the 23rd annual spring conference of the Pennsylvania Computer and Information Science Educators (PACISE), a
professional organization representing faculty in all areas of computing and computing education in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. The theme for the 2008 conference was Intelligent Agents.


The KU Computer Science department would like to thank all participants for helping to make the conference a great success.


Awards
The Programmer Contest winners were:
  • First place - Bloomsburg "GUI Sparkle Motion" (Katsak, Reichart, Moser)
  • Second Place - Clarion "Nerdix" (Sanders, Carper, Goodspeed)
  • Third Place - Millersville "Gold" (Mitton, Hollinger, Kyga)

There were two best paper awards presented:
  • "Using HL7 Chief Complaint Data For Infectious Disease Detection"
    by M. Kurtz, R. Marmelstein, M. Devito
    East Stroudsburg University

  • "Semantic Memory In A Computer: A Synthetic Model Approach"
    by R. Veale and R. Liston
  • Ursinus College
